To participate in the TechSoup Malaysia program, NGOs should meet any one (1) of the eligibility criteria outlined below:
- Non-governmental organizations and institutions eligible for tax deductible gifts according to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri – LHDM) pursuant to sections 44(6) and 44(7) of the Income Tax Act 1967 (ITA), as amended;
- Charitable trusts established for purposes described in Section 2(1) of the Trustees (Incorporation) Act 1952, as amended;
- Youth societies registered with the Registrar of Youth Society under the Ministry of Youth and Sports pursuant to the Youth Societies and Youth Development Act 2007 (No. 668);
- Societies registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) pursuant to the Societies Act 1966, as amended and operating on a non-profit basis for the public benefit;
- Companies limited by guarantee registered with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) pursuant to Section 45 of the Companies Act 2016 and operating on a non-profit basis for the public benefit;
- Awqaf (Islamic trust endowments) registered with the Registrar of Waqf of the relevant state authority in accordance with the relevant legislation administering the Islamic law;
- Mosques registered with state-level Islamic Departments pursuant to relevant state law; or
- Other organizations established by special legislation and operating on a non‐profit basis for the public benefit, at the sole discretion of TechSoup.
Aside from the required documents, organizations must as well provide the following legal identifier/s during the registration. Indicated in this section the suggested formats of legal identifers:
